WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
1. Insurance: In order to protect your investment, operate professionally, and protect our interests, we carry liability, workers compensation, auto, and theft insurance on every project we complete. We carry a minimum of 3 Million dollars of protection for each project. Our insurance agent is Mark Maloney at Maloney Associates located at 1650 Elm St. Manchester NH 03101 (603-624-8077)
2. Experience: We have been in the painting and wall covering business for over 30 years and our staff has over 50 years of combined experience.
3. No Subcontractors: It is very common in this business for companies to use subcontractors. There are several reasons for using subcontractors, all of which are not good for you. The advantages to having real employees are: a. Adequate insurance coverage: This eliminates liability to the owner. An employee is covered by the painting company's insurance policy. Subcontractors are required to carry their own insurance. Usually the subcontractor will get some small liability policy ($100,000 or so) and then sometimes they will get workers compensation insurance, but then exlude themselves. Many times the subcontractor will also get a helper to work with them and that person also has no coverage. Lack of workers compensation coverage means an injury by a subcontractor would most likely be filed against you, the owner. Another liability with using subcontractors is with payroll taxes. If someone does not pay them, then you could be liable, even though you paid the contractor. b. Control of activities: The nature of an employee/employer relationship is such that the employer can direct the activities of the employee. That is not the case with subcontractors. Ther benefit to you is quick and efficient changes. Work can be stopped and adjustments made as necessary.
4. Good pay and benefits: Good compensation helps us attract and retain the best employees to work on your project.
5. Year-Round Workers: Painting is often considered a hobby, part time job, or summer job. We consider it a career and a real job for real people who want to do the job right the first time. No games, no hassles.
6. Training: We train our employees in the proper use of equipment and Occupational Safety and Health. This reduces errors and accidents on the job. It also ensures the best qualified employees are working on your project.
7. Company vehicles and uniformed employees: First, you will easily recognize our trucks and employees as they approach your home or business. Second, the jobsite will look very professional. Third, because the vehicles are covered by our insurance, you don't have to worry about liability issues.
8. Job Foreman: Each project will be equipped with a person to lead the work. This person will be introduced to you and will have the ability to make decisions regarding the proect. This person will also have a cell phone for adequate communication (no using customers phone) and to contact authorities in the case of an emergency.
9. Associations: We distinguish ourselves through our involvement in the following groups:
a. The Better Business Bureau b. The Painting and Decorating Contractors of America c. The American Subcontractors Association d. Proof Management
10. Large staff: We typically employ from 10 to 15 employees throughout the year.
11. Pricing: Menard Painting Corp. is not the lowest priced contractor in the area.
